AUARTS Summer Residency Exhibition
Come experience Heatwave, which is a group exhibition of fifteen local artists who participated in this year's AUArts Summer Residency program!
The 2024 AUArts Summer Residency is an opportunity for artists to utilize campus facilities to create and further develop their practice. This year, fifteen artists worked for nine weeks, and although they come from a diverse range of backgrounds working within a variety of mediums, one thing they all have in common was the energy they brought to their work. Heatwave represents that surge of collective creative energy that comes from a place with such a high concentration of artistic expression and vigorous activity.
Heatwave showcases the transformative power of this passion. Not only on the canvas, clay, cloth and even code with which the artists work but also on the space within which their work exists. The exhibition invites viewers to experience the energetic pulse of creativity that has permeated the residency, leaving a lasting impression on all who engage with it. It is a testament to the potential of artistic dedication and the enduring impact of creative fervor.
Artists Include: Cait Adair, Jonathan Creese, Meagan Currie, Jason Cripps, Akash Dhillon, Odin Ellergodt, Vian Esterhuizen, Lauren Jacobson, Timothy Kozlik, Nicole Shah, Sasha Terway, Jessy Tyson, Anna Ugolkova, Isabel Vermeulen, and Natasha Walter-Pinay.
