Intro to Etching

This course will cover the fundamentals of etching, including drypoint, hardground and aquatint techniques. Participants will learn how to use a traditional 15th century style printing press to create their works.

No prior printmaking experience is required!

About the Instructor

Alison Frank has over a decade of experience in archival custom picture framing. She holds a BFA from the University of Regina and an MFA in Printmaking from Louisiana State University. Originally from the South Saskatchewan prairies, she currently lives in Calgary. She is involved in the art community, exhibiting her work, coordinating community exhibitions and events, teaching and volunteering. Her work has been exhibited in Canada, the United States, Europe and Australia.
