About the Artist
Via themes of naturalism, queerness and disability, Louie Fermor uses art to explore portraiture and storytelling, including both the stories we’ve committed to the pages and the stories we tell ourselves.

Louie is an artist and writer of Anglo-Scottish descent living in Moh’kins’tsis on Treaty 7 territory. They have exhibited, published, and been a resident with programs and publications across Canada, like the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, the Feminist Art Collective, Momus, and New York University. They regularly volunteer and work with advocacy groups, such as the John Humphrey Centre for Peace and Human Rights, the Calgary Climate Hub, and Disability Pride Alberta. They have won multiple awards and grants in both writing, painting, and communitarian initiatives.
