The Immigrant Council for Arts Innovation (ICAI) is looking for participants to be part of our upcoming focus groups in Edmonton.
The Edmonton Focus Groups will support ICAI in creating a strategy to understand and support our members in Edmonton as we move across Alberta. This call is for immigrant and newcomer arts professionals ONLY in Edmonton and the great Edmonton Area (Beaumont, Devon, Fort Saskatchewan, Greater Parkland Regional, Leduc Regional, Morinville, St. Albert and Sherwood Park, etc) to participate in our upcoming focus groups, to share their experience, challenges, wishes and desires as newcomer and immigrant arts professionals and help ICAI better support them in reaching their professional goals.
WHO CAN APPLY
Professional artists, arts administrators, and culture workers in Edmonton.
No age limit
No residency time limit - Immigrants can apply regardless of how many years they’ve been in Edmonton.
FOCUSED GROUPS DATES
Focus Group 1: April 9th (online), 6-8 pm
Focus Group 2: May 7th, 2025 (in person), Edmonton Public Library – Stanley Milner, 6-8 pm.
Focus Group 3: June 4th (online), 6 -8pm.
Focus Group 4: July 2nd - EPL – Stanley Milner, 6-8:00 pm.
TIME COMMITMENT AND BENEFITS
Each participant will join one focus group either in-person or online. The focus groups will have a facilitator that will gather information from the group. The duration of each focus group is 2 hrs.
Participants will receive a $50 honorarium for 2 hours and have the opportunity to meet an amazing network of newcomers and immigrants.
Light snacks provided for the in-person focus groups.
