ICAI Newcomer Arts Professional Program (NAPP): Call for Mentors

The Time Has Come!
We are absolutely thrilled to announce the Call for Mentors for ICAI’s Newcomer Arts Professional Program (NAPP)!

Formerly known as the Immigrant Arts Mentorship Program (IAMP), NAPP is calling for passionate leaders to invest their expertise in guiding participants toward unparalleled success in the arts.


Purposeful Empowerment
NAPP empowers newcomer arts professionals through personalized mentorship, professional development sessions, and comprehensive training. NAPP addresses unique challenges faced by newcomers in the Canadian arts landscape by offering networking opportunities, sector-specific insights, and paid career-establishing opportunities. 

Open Call for Calgary and Edmonton
This mentorship call welcomes dedicated leaders in both Calgary and Edmonton! Invest just four hours a month to profoundly impact the journey of a newcomer arts professionals.

Mentorship Role and Benefits
Experienced leaders are key contributors to this program, dedicating four hours a month to guide a program participant. This commitment is compensated, recognizing the value of their time and expertise. In addition to monetary compensation, mentors also enjoy enhanced leadership skills, expanded career networks, personal fulfillment, reciprocal learning, personal brand enhancement, career growth, and cultural exposure.

Requirements and Application Details
Candidates should have a minimum of two years of active arts professional experience in Canada or 5-10 years cumulatively if born outside the country. Demonstrate a commitment to sharing your professional network and participating in key program events.

Important Notice for Mentor Applicants!
We extend our gratitude to you for considering mentorship within our program.

  • The mentor selection process is conducted with utmost care, tailored to the unique needs of both mentors and mentees. Our team will initiate contact with potential mentors when a suitable match arises, aligning closely with the expertise and experiences outlined in your profile.

  • It is important to note that our call for mentors is ongoing throughout the year, and there is no fixed deadline for submissions. Feel free to submit your application at any time!

  • For those who have already submitted an application, there is no need to reapply. We will reach out based on the compatibility of your profile with potential mentees.

  • Annually, selected mentors commit to dedicating four hours per month between June and November to actively contribute to the success of our program.
