(The project aims to capture the stories of Temporary Foreign Workers through storytelling narratives and visuals.)
This is an opportunity to be featured in a project in collaboration with our artist residents, Skye and Melvee; as well as our wonderful photojournalist, Lionel Migrino, and with some brilliant youths at The Written Revolutions. (Please check their website out here just to see how amazing these young minds are.)
This is a call out for you OR anyone in your communities to be a part of a self-reflective process and to sow seeds for the future generation through passing on your stories. We hope that through this process, we can add value to you and your families through a meaningful way.
The project aims to capture the stories of Temporary Foreign Workers through storytelling narratives and visuals.
It will be entitled:
“Hope for the Future: Stories of Temporary Foreign Workers”
In this project, we want to explore the stories of some of the thousands of immigrant temporary foreign workers (TFW) that came to Canada. We want to explore not only the struggles that they had to overcome; but more importantly; what has kept them hopeful and resilient despite their circumstances.
We want to be able to explore topics like family reunification, language barriers, discrimination, recognition of education, culture, faith and navigating through the system.
As leaders of your communities and as ambassadors or members of Action Dignity, I hope that you will be able to connect with us OR connect us with individuals that would find value by being a part of this process.
We will conduct 30-45 min, one-to-one interviews via zoom with the youths from The Written Revolutions between April 28th-May 19th. In addition, we will also be organizing a creative photoshoot with Lionel; and we hope to create a unified art piece with Skye and Melvee.
*At this time; this opportunity is open for only up to 8 individuals.
Criteria for Participation:
-Must be or has been a temporary foreign worker in Canada.
-Must be willing to be interviewed for 45 min via zoom between the dates of April 28-May 19.
